A number of rumors emerged over the weekend involving the future of THQ, none of which painted an especially promising picture for the publisher. Despite suggestions that it had canceled its entire slate of games set to come out in 2014, it has released a statement denying that is the case.

Club Nintendo Now Offering Majora’s Mask, Kirby, and Dr. Mario
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II has been officially announced and is coming sometime in 2012, Sega revealed today. In what will be a fairly lengthy wait for an episodic series (as long as we don’t use Half-Life as the benchmark ), Episode II will be coming more than a year after release of Episode I in 2010. Today’s announcement mentions that the physics are being “completely reworked” in this new game, which is very welcome news for those who felt that particular problem plagued Episode I.

Nintendo Direct Recap: Fire Emblem Dated in Japan
This week’s Nintendo Download update brings with it not only a handful of games, but also a new app for 3DS users to play around with. Swapnote allows you to exchange notes with other 3DS users that you’ve draw on the touchscreen. You can also attach photos and then share these notes through either SpotPass or StreetPass, meaning they can end up on the 3DS of people you are near or those on your system’s friend list.

Should you be among those unfortunate enough to have encountered the game-breaking bug in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword , you may not have to restart your game from scratch if you live in Japan. Nintendo of Japan’s website published a message today explaining how to avoid the bug, which occurs when players do things in an order that was not intended. These instructions have been making the rounds (see here for how to avoid running into the issue yourself) but was only of help to those who had not yet run into the bug.
