Director Edgar Wright has managed to secure permission to include music from The Legend of Zelda in the upcoming film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, but only after showing the film to Shigeru Miyamoto himself. In a Wired interview conducted by star Michael Cera (via GoNintendo ), Wright said that he needed Miyamoto’s permission to include the tunes in a dream sequence

Babysitting Mama, a spin-off title of Majesco’s successful Cooking Mama franchise, has players putting their Wii remotes inside a plush baby doll — but they’re only offering the plush in one color. Though there will be six avatars of “different races” and both genders in the game, the company will only offer a single Caucasian-looking doll for all players.

One of the glaring omissions from Nintendo’s E3 press conference last week was the absence of the Vitality Sensor. It was revealed at E3 last year and then not really heard from, so it seemed likely that we’d be getting a demonstration of the technology, if not an accompanying game, during this year’s conference.

Nintendo Says E3 Wasn’t the Right Venue to Show the Vitality Sensor
The 3DS may only be the beginning of Nintendo’s 3D intentions, as president Satoru Iwata said to Japan’s Nihon Keizai Shimbun paper (via Andriasang ) that they may introduce 3D into their next console as well. When asked by the paper if Nintendo has any plans to create 3D games on the Wii, Iwata said, “if you display a 3D image, the image quality becomes extremely bad, so we’d probably do it with the next system.

These are made explicitly to warm up your wallet for the coming retail onslaught, and more often than not they succeed. In a perfect world, every 1UP reader could attend E3 and try out the games themselves — but we’re pretty sure management would get suspicious if we requested thousands upon thousands of “press” passes

Terrible wireless connectivity prevented us from properly liveblogging today’s Konami E3 press conference, but we were still on hand for the most important announcements. The company’s presentation was largely centered around games previously shown at its Gamers Night a few months ago. Still, there were a few new revelations worth noting, as well as a handful of trailers.

An E3 tradition has developed over the past few years: An annual Nintendo developers roundtable, a 90-minute informal talk by Shigeru Miyamoto and his associates about the company’s biggest titles and announcements for the year. This year was no different, and a select group of media watched as Miyamoto talked abut the Nintendo 3DS and some of its select titles, as well as the latest Zelda, Skyward Sword , along with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and 3DS lineup producer Hideki Kondo
