In what was a foregone conclusion, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the top-selling game in the United States during the month of November. The NPD Group today released its report for the month of November, which tracks new, physical sales at retail.

Miyamoto Tries to Dispel Notion That He is Retiring

Following an interview published on Wednesday evening where Shigeru Miyamoto suggested he was planning to leave his current position at Nintendo for one where he could work on smaller, more personal projects, Nintendo was quick to deny this was the case. It’s understandable why it would do this — Nintendo’s waning stock price took an immediate hit on the stock markets both here and in Japan out of fear the company would lose its creative leader and the man who created Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong.

The Last Story Makes it to Europe in February

Another of the three Wii-exclusive RPGs Nintendo of America showed no interest in bringing to North America now has a release date in Europe. The Last Story will be available on February 24, 2012. A European release for the game had been confirmed months ago, so the only news here is the exact release date

The EFF Wants Console Modding and Jailbreaking Deemed Legal by the DMCA

Just over a year after winning several exemptions to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) anti-circumvention provisions (which saw jailbreaking cell phones acknowledged as fair use), the Electronic Frontier Foundation is now trying to expand those exemptions. This time around it’s interested in gaining something similar for those who want to mod their videogame consoles. A request for this, along with three other issues, was filed this week

Xenoblade Chronicles Confirmed for North America [Update]

Update: If the information below seemed to too good to be true, Nintendo has now confirmed the news: Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to North America next year. The game’s page on Nintendo’s website only lists an April release date, while GameStop’s website has been updated with a listing that shows it as coming out on April 2. Whatever the exact date may be, at least we now know it’s coming.

Zelda: Skyward Sword and Mario 3D Land Each Surpass 500k Units Sold

The biggest Wii game launch of the year and the first big original game release on 3DS are each off to a strong start in the United States with both titles having already sold over 500,000 units. According to Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime, who spoke with USA Today , Super Mario 3D Land has sold in excess of 500,000 units since it launched on November 13
